We offer horse riding equipment ranging from saddles to spurs to the Troxel helmet for trailriding, pleasure riding and for work.

The leading cause of death in riding is due to riding without a helmet. It is important that you look for helmets that are approved by the ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) and the SEI (Safety Equipment Institute). There are many types of helmets that comply to the ASTM and SEI standards. Whether the riding equipment used is for pleasure, for show riding, Western show riding or cross country including Western saddle and Australian saddle riding, it is important the helmet fit properly. This includes whether the harness used is either with the chin cup attached or with the jaw strap exclusively. They are equally safe.

When buying horseback riding equipment such as a helmet, look for one that has a snug fit. If you are a young rider, get a helmet that fits you at the time of purchase and when you plan on wearing it. Don't get a helmet for the future and wear it before it fits.

Helmets don’t last forever. Generally, five years is the approximate time that one should be looking to replacing a helmet. However, you should inspect your helmet as you do with all of your other horse tack. Some of the things you might look for are holes or dents in the helmet, the harness is stretched or tearing away from the helmet, or that there are cracks in the helmet. Check the liner. Vinyl and plastic don’t last forever, so be aware of what’s happening with your equipment used for horseback riding. It could save you from severe injury or even death.
